Dissolution of New England Aztec

W
hen NESS merged with the Aztec Soccer Club it seemed like a good idea at the time. As with any partnership there is always a difference of opinion on various issues, which are mostly minor. Some are serious enough to render separation. As things matured between the two entities it became clear that each still had their own ideas as to how the business should be run and, more importantly, how the players should be coached.
Apart from providing a magnificent home for the teams to play and practice, NESS introduced their relationship with Everton Football Club of the English Premier League to the merger. For those of you who are not aware, the Everton youth academy in Liverpool, England is admired in the UK and in many other parts of the world. The academy, led by their director of coaching Anthony (Tosh) Farrell, created the best coaching curriculum bar none, known as ?The Everton Way?. Nevertheless it was the Aztec choice to continue with their existing coaching methods and persevere with their own managerial style, both of which were considered by the NESS bench as being antiquated. Hence the agreement between the parties is to go their separate ways.
Everton has ended their relationship with the Aztec Club, as evidenced by the removal of any reference to them on the Aztec web site, but will continue to support NESS in a more determined fashion. The New England Soccer School will now be focused on regenerating itself starting with the younger teams, ages 6-12 and running more intense summer camps. We aim to produce elite players using A rated coaches who understand how to utilize ?The Everton Way? to it?s full potential. We are not intending to be the biggest club in New England simply the best.
